"If we treated our friends like we treat ourselves, we wouldn't have any."...Wash
Hello there, loved ones,
I'm finally updating my site, pecking away here in Queensland Australia on the way to midnight. Life is real for me, the condition of my soul is good and, yes, there's challenges, I've just broken my foot in several places and been informed Id be in plaster up to the knee for three months.Ah! Well five weeks down and plaster gone, such is the healing power.
More good news, on a personal note, I'm learning that my own words"you cant stop love' really make a heap of sense. Try as I may, love just keeps comin',thanks to the beloved.
"Once you get it started, just look what it does,
It'll go full circle, you cant stop love."
The music goes well, two years in the making and I've finally completed the new CD and DVD. Check em out, If you like, Just buy one. I'm liking the work. The art progresses; the inner critic remains gagged; the cruel and beautiful world awaits.
God Bless and be kind to one another ..... Washuntara
New Music:
"Praise god and pass the peas" I've done it, the new CD is completed and mastered . Its
named after my street. I live on HOPE STREET (Check it out here) my roomy suggested it as a title and it stuck. I'm sure it should mean something
There's thirteen new tunes on this song driven record, twelve of which I wrote or co-wrote. I've taken my time making this one; working with my friend Brian Sutton on the Aussie Gold Coast. We pretty much did the whole thing ourselves in his little studio.
There's some drumming that aint ours, thanks Jo Delaney, the angelic BGVs come from my beloved Susannah Lathlean and there's a sax solo from George Ferguson. Working with champagne taste and an beer budget asks a lot of people. Thanks guys.

WAIT! THERE'S MORE. My new DVD Titled
A WALK IN THE MUSIC is now in the can Featuring Christina (my beloved guitar) and I LIVE. There's a dozen of my favorite tunes, bare boned and honest.
There's a little 'rockumentory' I've named SONGLINES about song writing mostly and SNAPSHOT, a selection of my favorite stories. Most all of us want pictures with our music these days. There's some nice ones here.
On Stage:
I've been doing some killer shows in Australia. It seems I've found a niche doing these inti mate, high profile gigs. The major Australian events that Christina (my beloved guitar) and I have supplied the music for this year it works. 2007/8 is quite amazing. Thanks to all those mentioned below who've been willing to steward my talents, there's nothing grandiose about a guy and a guitar. It's very simple and it works.
- Government House - An intimate musical gathering hosted by the Governor of South Australia, Marjorie Jackson, welcoming international sportsmen and dignitaries to the state.
- The Australian Golf Open - An outside gig on a perfect night for the worlds leading golf players and sponsors at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club. Thanks to my dear friends at Jacobs Creek.
- The International ladies Masters - Last week Feb 5, played a fine little gig, gave the girls a chance to let their hair down before the tour at the Royal Pines golf course on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Wore my brilliant blue in honor of the ANZ Bank who proudly sponser this great event.. This is the third year we've had fun together. They just get better.
- Pernod Ricard International Brand Seminar - Held at the historic Jacobs Creek Vineyard in South Australia. What started as a intimate singer songwriter night, turned in to a jolly good frolic.
- The Tour Down Under - A lovely night of song welcoming the worlds leading cyclists to Australia. Fifty people, warm and wonderful, sponsored by the Aussie government.
Community:
- Circle of men meets weekly on a wednesday night and its outreach program has expanding into a number of aged care facilities in Australia. We had over fifty GRANDFATHERS and their carers in attendance at our get together in Queensland this week.
- The journey goes on; Since Orlan,Chris And I lit that candle many years ago,our quest to express masculinity in a dignified manner has endured .Thanks to all the thousands of men who chose to leave behind their lives of quiet desperation.
We continue to fight the good fight and brothers I leave you with this thought,
Its unforgivable to systematically ignore our older people any longer.
Check out the community focus.
The late and beloved Tom C. Armstrong
honored me in his last book of poetry, here is what he wrote:
For Washuntara;
Hide and Seek,
most of us choose hide.
Thanks Tom, I'm still looking.
